Last month, the OPRF Community Foundation Leadership Lab visited Opportunity Knocks to learn about our social enterprises and lend a hand.
According to their website, the Leadership Lab “brings together committed citizens and emerging and current leaders, to build and practice transferable, valuable leadership skills, and to explore and assess the strengths and opportunities in our community, in a unique, hands-on curriculum.”
We were thrilled to host them for their “Business: Creative Partnerships” session in April. We started off chatting about the OK Mission then split off into two groups: one helped us prep the OK farm for the growing season, while the other received a Knock Out Pickles demo.
We then capped off the morning with a BBQ-style luncheon prepared and served by our Warrior Catering Company. The event was filled with fun, community, volunteerism, and energizing conversation with a great group of people. Thanks so much for coming by!
This exciting day also marked an expansion of the Warrior workforce, as it was Charlie O’Connor’s first catering gig. Charlie helped prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for the Leadership Lab crew.
It was good. I like my job. I like to cook like my mom. We made pork. It was fun cooking with my man Joe and Jackie.
Charlie, it was great to see you. Thank you and all the catering Warriors – the lunch and pickles were delicious! Can’t wait to visit the farm again and see the vegetables sprouting.
